Dear GRS Parents, Guardians, and Staff,
Guardian Residential Services places the safety and health of all our families, individuals, and staff as our highest priority. The COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic has been rapidly evolving and we have been closely monitoring the situation. This week, a number of significant developments have occurred that have provided us new information, including the Governor’s declaration of a state of emergency.
Recognizing any changes to program operations have significant impacts on individuals, we are announcing a number of actions only after serious and considerable deliberation with the department of health. Our goal is to continue to provide instruction in a safe and effective manner. At this time there is no known direct case of COVID-19 within our program.
The following are changes we have directed today:
1. Continuous implementation of infection Control Procedures and Universal Precautions, such as hand washing and sanitizing our program space and vehicles daily.
2. Restricting some locations for outings to some public areas that may be crowded, such as museums, bowling alleys, and libraries, as well as all unnecessary public transportation travel.
3. Requesting that all families, and group home staff check on the health status of individuals on daily basis.
4. Requesting that ALL staff and families who are experiencing illness, including fever, stay away from the program.
We are continually monitoring this situation and will make updates as necessary. We continue to value your support as we work together to help support our individuals, their families, and our staff through this challenging situation.
